Private car and boat
|
This is the quickest and most convenient way to reach Puerto Galera.
This can be arranged for any time, day or night
We can arrange for a representative to meet and escort you through the airport to the waiting car.
The trip from the airport takes 2 - 3 hours. The car goes to Mainaga Pier, from there a private boat takes an hour and brings you straight to Small Lalaguna beach or Blue Crystal.
To avoid confusion, print out the following directions and carry them with you. If there is any confusion you can call us on 0973 679 096 or 0917 339 3365
Directions for pick up from the International Airport, Manila:
We need your flight number and arrival time to book this as well as the number of people in the group
Directions thru the Airport
Walk through the customs area and go outside the airport.
You will be standing on the arrival terminal access road.
Look across the road and you will see two ramps one going down to your left one to your right.
Walk across the road and go down the right hand ramp .When you reach the bottom you will be at another access road. Stay on the side of the road that you are on as you walk down the ramp.
Look across the road.
There are barriers in place, behind which you will see lots of people waiting for friends and relatives.
Walk down the road looking across the street for someone carrying a Rudy's DC Transfer sign with your name.
Identify your self and be prepared that at this stage you may have to leave the luggage trolley behind for a short walk to the car. You should pay for the boat and car on arrival at Rudy's DC, not to the driver or boatman.
Cost one way, [total, not per person] for car/van and boat:
Up to 6 people: P3800 (about $95)
Up to 12 people P6000 (about $150)

Tourist Bus/Ferry and Public Transportation combinations
|
Sikat
|
The Sikat does not stop and is exclusively a travel ferry with a direct connection to Puerto Galera.
The Sikat bus departs from the City State Tower Hotel, Mabini Street, Ermita, Manila at 9am every morning (guide books incorrectly say that it leaves from the Centrepoint hotel). (tel: 02 4001422, email: [email protected])
Make sure you make a schedule the day before or on the arrival day you are travelling unless peak season (get to the hotel by 08.30).
Round trip tickets are P700 (about $18)
The bus connects directly with the Sikat ferry in Batangas (it is all one service), the boat usually leaves around 12pm unless the bus is delayed.
The SiKat approximately arrives in Puerto Galera at about 2pm where you can take a banka (boat) to Sabang Beach or arrange with us to send a boat to pick you up.(cost P230 for 4 people). If you prefer to take a jeepney you will need to walk up to the church, take the left hand road running past the church and then left again for the road to Sabang (300 meters from pier) You will see the waiting jeepneys - only P10 per person
Return transport leaves Puerto at 9.30am and reaches Manila before 3pm.

Super 85
|
Similar to Sikat Tourist bus ferry.
Leaves Royal Palm Hotel, corner of Mabini St/Padre Faura St. in Ermita at 7:30am. (The hotel can be booked at [email protected]. Tel: 1-800-1888-15-15 within the Philippines)
Arrives in Puerto Galera at 12 noon.
The ferry is a much faster catamaran than the Sikat and halves the travel time from Batangas Pier to Puerto Galera. However, recently (June 2000) the company has been using a standby ferry and the service is not as good as the Sikat.

Public transportation
|
Not convenient or easy if you have heavy dive bags. We do not recommend this route.
The Least expensive option.
Catch a regular aircon bus from Manila (JAM bus stations Taft Ave., Pasay) to Batangas Port (approx. P80) where local boats and ferries run to Sabang, Puerto Galera and Balateros. Watch your bags carefully on the bus. The bus drivers often try to drop off tourists before they reach the pier. Hawkers will tell you that all ferries have left but you can take their private (P1800) banca. Stay on the bus and wait until you are next to the passenger terminal. At the ticket counters look for any boat going to Sabang (best choice), Puerto Galera or Balatero:
Batangas Pier to Sabang
DSL Big Bangkas: 09.30, 10.30, 12.15 & 14.30 (P75)
Batangas Pier to Puerto Galera
Sikat: 12.00 (P175)
Fastcraft Blue Eagle, Blue Phoenix): 11.30, 1300?,15.30 (P110) Fri-Sun also 09:00
Paradise Express: 10.00, 14.30
Batangas Pier to Balateros
Viva Ferry (MV San Jose): 08.30, 12.00, 17.00 (P85) M/V Guadalpe: 07.30, 10.30, 14.00
