Welcome...
....to one of the most challenging and rewarding part or full time careers In the world. A life filled with fun and adventures. Take a look at the steps to starting work in your new office...
Why not make a full, or part time, living out of what you enjoy doing most?
And where better to further your education than a holiday IDC?
If you're new to the PADI system at this level, or unfamiliar with the steps to becoming a successful Instructor, let us be the first to welcome you to the worlds largest diver training organization and to some of the most modern instructional methods and materials used in diver education today. The path to becoming an Instructor is two fold:
• A nine-day development course (IDC) and
• Two-day examination (IE). More on both as you read through this page.
On the other hand, if you're already an Instructor with another organization, please ask about our Instructor Orientation Course (lOC) which acknowledges your existing teaching experience and concentrates on adapting your skills to the PADI System.
Our facilities are amongst the best in the area. The pool and ocean are just a few meters away, it couldn't be easier or more convenient to arrange the water works.
We gaurantee you pass your IDC and IE or your second IDC is for free.
To attend an IDC you must be:
• Certified as a PADI Assistant Instructor or PADI Dive master or as a current Instructor member in good standing with another recreational diver training organization.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be fit for diving and submit a medical statement for a diving medical examination conducted in the past twelve months
• Have been a certified diver for the last 6 months and have completed and logged at least 60 dives
• Submit proof of CPR training within the last 24 months.

Assistant Instructor
There is no better way to prepare for a IDC than to complete an Assistant Instructor Course. As well as learning a lot about the PADI system of diver education, you'll find being able to give academic, confined water and open water presentations to be a distinct advantage on the IDC. The Assistant Instructor Course may excuse you from attending certain part of the IDC that you completed during the AI course and opens up new challenges as a dive professional even if not choose not to take the IDC.
Our Assistant Instructor program are run over a four-day period. If you arrive earlier than the scheduled dates we'll be happy to give you time around actual students in training to fine tune your teaching skills.
As an Assistant Instructor you can:
• Present the academic elaboration for any PADI diver course under indirect supervision of an instructor
• Teach and certify Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Divers under the direction of an instructor
• Independently conduct the Discover Scuba experience
• Teach and certify students in Medic First Aid (after completion of an MFA Instructor Course)
• Teach and certify students in a non-diving specialty, such as Equipment Specialty, after successful completion of a Specialty Instructor training Course

Check list
Preparation is the key to success at any IDC. To give you every chance to succeed at the IE we would like you to initial each part of the following list indicating that you have completed the necessary preparation:
I have reviewed the five areas (Physics, Physiology, Skill and the Environment, RDP and Equipment) from the Knowledge Workbook and Encyclopedia.
I have completed the pre assessment theory quizzes on pages 19-9 to 19-25 of the Instructor Candidate Workbook and
1. I passed each quiz comfortably or
2. I did not pass each quiz but have had tuition on weak areas.
I have completed all the Knowledge Reviews in the Instructor Candidate Workbook.
I have practiced my rescue skills (exercise #7 from the Rescue Diver Course) to a level where I feel could demonstrate rescuing a non-breathing victim at the surface.
I have practiced all 18 skills in the Divemaster Skill Circuit to a level where I can demonstrate each to a score of 4 or above.
I have my own Instructor Manual to use during the IDC/IE and have up-to-date editions of the General Standards & Procedures, Open Water Diver Course to Dive master.
I have reviewed General Standards and Procedures in my Instructor Manual and answered the pre assessment questions on pages 19-1 to 19-8 in the Candidate Workbook.
I have seen the PADI Open Water videos (1 to 5) or the PADI OW CD-ROM with in the past six months and reviewed my Open Water Diver Manual.

We wish to make every effort to assist you to prepare- please don not hesitate to contact us with any questions or come to our free preparation days, we are more then glad to answer them.
Please bring this form to the free preparation day, the registration session or to one of us any time before the IDC.

PADI Instructors Exams - IE
Instructors exams are conducted by examiners sent from PADI International (USA).
The IE is two day evaluation program that test you, the instructor candidate in you; teaching ability, dive theory knowledge, water skill level, understanding of the PADI system, attitude and professionalism.
IEs typically start the evening before the dates on the program schedule with an orientation and one of the theory exams. Full details will be given nearer the time.
There are other IEs held around the Philippines. We're happy to schedule IDCs before these and to assist with transport to, and accommodation at the IE venue. Please contact us if the date of our program do not suit you.
To attend an IE you must:
Successfully complete a IDC or IOC within 12 months of the start date of the IE
Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months and have proof of at least 100 logged dives
Present an IDC / IOC Certificate of Completion signed by a Course Director
Present an IE enrollment form and appropriate IE fee
Medic First Aid Instructor program
As an Open Water Scuba Instructor you're certified to conduct Experience programs through to Dive master level. Many of these programs require CPR training prior to certification. We believe that you should be able to offer your students that CPR training.
Without the MFA Instructor rating you reduce your chances of employment and increase the risk of your students going to a colleague or rival to complete their training. Why give your students away?
Medic First Aid meets the requirements for:
•Rescue diver
•Dive master
•Assistant Instructor
•IDC / IOC
Teaching the MFA course has other advantages. Not only can you emphasize of being able to help someone in an emergency, but also you can market Medic First Aid to non-divers as a recruitment tool for new divers, as personal enhancement and as a community service course.
Your MFAI will be run over one day during which you'll have the opportunity to practice your first aid and teaching skills. You'll learn about the methodology behind MFA as well as covering interesting topics such as 'the Psychology of Resuscitation'. Held after (possible before) the IE, it's a relaxed, straightforward, "no brainer" day that we're sure you'll find very rewarding.
Assistant Instructors can also take the MFAI course. As a PADI Instructor (or AI), don't you owe it to yourself to complete your training?
Please note that although equivalencies for CPR (such as "Red Cross" or St. Johns Ambulance') apply to the IDC and IE. You must have completed the MFA Course at some point prior to starting MFA Instructor training.
Master Scuba Diver preparation course
If you really want to get ahead as an Instructor you need to be able offer your students a full range of courses to cater to their interest. What better start then being confident in teaching five specialties?
One of the biggest fears when graduating from an IE is facing a student and teaching a course for the first time - especially if you're not as familiar with as you are with the Open Water Diver Course. As experience dive educators we've been there before. Our Specialty Instructor training programs familiarize you with the course content and standards for each of you chosen Specialties.
As with the other programs we've mentioned we bring years of experience, offering you real life tips, hints and suggestions for each course, giving you additional confidence and your students a more complete education. For example in the Enriched Air course we'll take you step by step through the theory with some ideas on making your explanations more understandable.
If you're still convinced, let us remind you of some of the other benefits completing specialty instructor training with us:
•To complete the MSDT prep course It is not required that you have 25 certifications. Note: You must have 25 certifications prior applying to PADI for your MSDT rating though.
•You need only to document 10 rather than 20 logged dives in the area.
•You submit the least expensive application to PADI.
Staff Instructor
As an Instructor, are you working hard towards the goal of becoming a Master Instructor or maybe you're looking higher to Course Director training?
In order to become a Master Instructor you must have certifeid at least five Assistant Instructors. In order to teach the Assistant Instructor program you must be a Staff Instructor. There are also many other benebfits to becoming a Staff Instructor, not least of wichis reducing burnout by increasing th enumber of different courses that you are able to teach. Staff Instructor will add Assistant Instructor and teaching portions of the IDCs to yuor portfolio.
There are two days of preparation before you audit an entire IDC to earn this certification. You'll find the two-day run up to the IDC itself both challenging and rewarding. There's a chance to brush up you own demonstration and teaching skills as well time to learn about scoring and critiquing instructor candidates.
We expect the very best from our Staff Instructors and look for professional apperance and conduct trough the course. You'll see each and every aspect of the IDC along with all the required materials and paper work and be fully involved at all times ensuring that you're ready to assume the responsibilities of a Staff Instructor.

Instructor Orientation Course (IOC) - Cross over program.
If you already a diving instructor from another certification organization, you can take advantage of the dive industry demands by becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. The IOC program acknowledges that you're an experienced scuba instructor who only needs an orientation to the PADI system. This condensed course focuses in first analyzing and understanding the PADI system, and then adapting your instructional style to conduct PADI programs. The IOC may be completed in as little as three days, however, the length may vary depending on your needs.
During the IOC, you'll use the PADI Instructor Candidate Workbook for self-study and attend staff presentations. Under your Course Director's Guidance, you'll practice applying the PADI system in classroom, confined water and open water presentations. We have only one goal, to help you become a successful PADI Instructor
Following the IOC, you may choose to attend an Instructor Examination (IE). As the IOC is your opportunity to evaluate PADI, the IE is PADI's opportunity to become familiar with you. Through the IE process, every PADI Instructor worldwide undergoes identical, impartial evaluation, ensuring consistent quality. After successfully completing the IOC and IE, you will be certified to teach:
PADI Scuba Diver
Open water Diver
Adventure Diver
Advanced Open Water Diver
Rescue Diver
Dive master Course
You may also conduct Bubble maker, Discover Scuba, Scuba Review, Discover Scuba Diving, Discover Local Diving, Skin Diving and snorkeling programs.
Continuing Education - Endless opportunities for career success.
Learning and growth don't stop once you become A PADI Open Water Instructor.
PADI continuing education philosophy provides you the opportunity to continally expand the courses you may offer and your income potential.
